RESUMO: O presente artigo se propõe a analisar como o fenômeno da hipervigilância se manifesta na cidade através da instalação de câmeras, focando na experiência em curso na Faculdade de Direito da Universidade de São Paulo (USP). Assim, pretende-se estudar como isso se insere em uma lógica de privatização dos espaços públicos, como isso influencia na dinâmica social nesses espaços, especialmente nas universidades públicas e investigar se realmente há a pressuposta relação entre monitoramento e segurança.

ABSTRACT: This article aims to analyze how the phenomenon of hypervigilance manifests itself in the city through the installation of cameras, focusing on the ongoing experience at the Faculty of Law of the University of São Paulo (USP). Thus, it is intended to study how this is part of a logic of privatization of public spaces, how it influences the social dynamics in these spaces, especially in public universities and to investigate whether there is really the assumed relationship between monitoring and security.
