RESUMO: As mobi­liza­ções soci­ais que explodi­ram no Chile em out­ubro de 2019 abri­ram o debate sobre graves e reit­er­adas vio­lações aos dire­itos humanos per­pe­tradas por agentes públi­cos, e denun­ci­adas por difer­entes organ­is­mos de Dire­itos Humanos. Este arti­go dis­cute a relação das medi­das ado­tadas em matéria de Justiça de Tran­sição e a políti­ca do gov­er­no de Sebastián Piñera para con­ter a explosão social, bem como a atu­ação das Forças de Segu­rança chile­nas no con­tex­to de uma forte crise social e políti­ca.

ABSTRACT: The social mobi­liza­tions that explod­ed in Chile in Octo­ber 2019 opened the debate on severe and repeat­ed vio­la­tions of human rights inflict­ed by pub­lic agents and denounced by dif­fer­ent human rights orga­ni­za­tions. This arti­cle dis­cuss­es the rela­tion­ship between the mea­sures adopt­ed in the area of Tran­si­tion­al Jus­tice and the pol­i­cy of the Sebastián Piñera gov­ern­ment to con­tain the social explo­sion, as well as the Chilean Secu­ri­ty Forces’ actions in a strong social and polit­i­cal cri­sis con­text.
