RESUMO: O obje­ti­vo do pre­sente estu­do é anal­is­ar a poten­cial­i­dade da práti­ca do skate de rua para ressig­nifi­cação do espaço públi­co em praças, quadras polies­porti­vas e demais espaços aban­don­a­dos e ociosos. Alme­ja-se anal­is­ar como a ação colab­o­ra­ti­va entre skatis­tas pode con­stru­ir espaços ade­qua­dos às neces­si­dades da práti­ca do skate em áreas per­iféri­c­as, com precária infraestru­tu­ra e fora do alcance de políti­cas públi­cas, e trans­for­man­do essa real­i­dade em uma potên­cia da invenção da vida cotid­i­ana. A pesquisa pos­sui caráter des­criti­vo e qual­i­ta­ti­vo e foi desen­volvi­da na “Quadrin­ha Life”, uma anti­ga quadra polies­porti­va de zelado­ria da sub­prefeitu­ra de São Miguel Paulista no municí­pio de São Paulo. A exper­iên­cia cor­re­sponde a área aban­don­a­da sub­meti­da a inter­venção e con­struí­da para práti­ca de skate, a par­tir da par­tic­i­pação de skatis­tas e moradores do ter­ritório. A análise bus­cou iden­ti­ficar a poten­cial­i­dade da uti­liza­ção da quadra pelos skatis­tas para práti­ca do skate, e seu impacto na roti­na dos moradores e comér­cio local com a ocu­pação e ressig­nifi­cação do espaço.

ABSTRACT: The objec­tive of the present study is to ana­lyze the poten­tial of street skate prac­tice to rede­fine pub­lic space in squares, sports courts, and oth­er aban­doned and idle spaces. It aims to ana­lyze how the col­lab­o­ra­tive action between skaters can build spaces suit­able to the needs of skate­board­ing in periph­er­al areas, with pre­car­i­ous infra­struc­ture and beyond the reach of pub­lic poli­cies and trans­form­ing this real­i­ty into a pow­er of the inven­tion of every­day life. The research has a descrip­tive and qual­i­ta­tive char­ac­ter and was devel­oped in “Quadrin­ha Life”, an old mul­ti-sports jan­i­to­r­i­al block in the São Miguel Paulista sub­pre­fec­ture in the munic­i­pal­i­ty of São Paulo. The expe­ri­ence cor­re­sponds to the aban­doned area sub­mit­ted to inter­ven­tion and built for skate­board­ing, based on the par­tic­i­pa­tion of skaters and res­i­dents of the ter­ri­to­ry. The analy­sis sought to iden­ti­fy the poten­tial use of the court by skaters for skate­board­ing, and its impact on the rou­tine of res­i­dents and local busi­ness­es with the occu­pa­tion and resig­ni­fi­ca­tion of the space.
